E3 is a summer-long internship that equips young adults in practical missionary skills, and then sent to partner churches across Idaho to put those skills to real-world use to provide our churches with much-needed workers in the harvest!

GOALS FOR THE PROGRAM

In Matthew 9:37, the church is instructed to pray for workers to be sent into the field because the harvest is great! The Lord is moving in Idaho and is in desperate need of workers!

The majority of churches in Idaho are smaller and most have one bi-vocational staff member. Seeing this need, our goal is to connect young adults, who have a heart for ministry, with these local churches that can’t otherwise fund an intern and initiate an exchange of perspectives between the individual and the churches. E3 Acts as an arm of Reach Idaho to connect ministry partners with Idaho churches to create lasting relationships that develop into partnerships.

E3 interns will receive hands-on ministry experience and discipleship while they live in a place with a different culture. We want to help them grow in their relationship with the Lord and learn how He has already equipped them to serve His Church and His kingdom. They will be challenged to use their ministry skills, spiritual gifts, and talents in many different areas of ministry and outreach. We want to equip young adults to be missionaries wherever they go on their campuses, homes, and all over the planet.

WHAT WILL THE PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?

Interns will start in Salmon, Idaho with one week of training and a bit of time to acclimate to the west. Because of its size, Salmon works as a perfect laboratory to practice the skills they will be learning. This time will be spent in a classroom setting and practicing skills in the community.

Interns will participate in:

  • WESTERN MISSIONS TRAINING

Learning the importance of praying over your mission field

Learning how to gather information about a people and a culture

Contextualizing ministry to that specific area

Praying and looking for people to help form connections in the community

  • Evangelism 101

Learning how to share the Gospel practically and easily

  • Rest 101

Developing rhythms of rest, even in busy seasons

  • LDS basics

A basic overview of the faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and how the Gospel makes a difference in their context and belief system

WHERE WILL THEY GO?

After one week of training, interns will be sent to a local church in Idaho equipped with skills they need to serve the church and people they encounter in that local context. Throughout the summer the internship director will maintain contact with interns and their local church supervisor.
