HOW CAN WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Church Strengthening

Jesus designed his church to be a unified body of believers. The Church universal is one body, unified in all its parts, no matter where the smaller local gatherings happen to meet. The existing local churches in Idaho, as well as our partner churches there, operate in a geography where resources and people are scarce. As Southern Baptists, we have churches in other regions of the United States in which resources and people are plentiful. Because of our cooperative nature, we believe in partnership. The sharing of resources and the sending of missionally focused individuals always prove to be a blessing to those who are sending and those who are receiving. Reach Idaho loves to connect churches in our network for that very purpose.

Church Planting

Idaho is a mission field! It is a pre-Christian mission field in our own backyard. While the vast majority of the United States is moving and growing toward post-Christianity. Idaho is, by contextual definition, pre-Christian. As noted in the section “Why Idaho?”, the presence of evangelical Christian work is notably lower than in many third-world societies in which a number of our churches choose to invest ministry, personnel, and financial resources. What a tragedy that, within the borders of the United States, we have a state that includes a lost population at a higher level than many third-world countries. For this reason, REACH – Idaho embraces a threefold approach to missional engagement. We work to:

  1. Network for Evangelism

  2. Raise up indigenous leaders, while enlisting missionally capable, cross-cultural missionaries from other regions of the United States to help us as we work to…

  3. Start new churches in Idaho

The process of starting new churches is illustrated for us in the New Testament book of Acts. Both the apostle Peter and Paul lived out this model of starting New Testament churches. It is a threefold process:

1.     Engage the village, town, or city

2.     Make disciples

3.     Plant the new local church

Equipping Church Leaders

In Matthew 9:37, Jesus tells his followers that the harvest is great, but the workers are few. That is completely true in Idaho. And we are passionate about changing that! Whether it’s interns, apprentices, church planters, short-term, or long-term missionaries, we want to train and equip leaders to work the harvest fields of Idaho. Because we know the harvest is great! Contact us, and we can help you find your place in Idaho's mission field!

EPHESIANS 1:20-23

He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens—far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he subjected everything under his feet and appointed him as head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.
